Dr. Devi Shetty, Founder & Chairman Narayana Hrudalaya

Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty is the Founder and Chairman of Narayana Hrudayalaya (NH) Hospital in Bangalore. NH is a multi-specialty hospital with state-of-the-art equipment and services. Dr. Shetty has won various awards ranging from the Schwab Foundation's Award in 2005, Padma Sri award for Medicine in 2004, Dr. BR Roy award in 2003, Ernst & Young- Entrepreneur of the year in 2003, Rajyotsava award in 2002 and Karnataka Ratna award in 2001. His dedication to making healthcare accessible to all strata of society is highly commendable. He has also been the mind behind the world's cheapest comprehensive health insurance scheme- Yeshasvini, in association with the Government of Karnataka.

Lt Gen (Dr) Janak Raj Bhardwaj, Member, National Disaster Management Authority

Lt. Gen. (Dr.) Janak Raj Bhardwaj, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, President’s Honorary Surgeon (Retd). Dr. Bhardwaj is a ’Fellow’ of Royal College of Pathologists (London). He is also a ‘Fellow’ of Academy of Medical Sciences and ‘Fellow’ of Indian College of Pathologists. His special interest has been Neuropathology. He is the Chairman, Pathology Board, National Board of Examinations, New Delhi and an Inspector of the Medical Council of India. He has large number of prestigious national research awards to his credit in the field of medicine. He has been President of prestigious National and International professional bodies like “Indian Association of Pathologist and Microbiologist, International Academy of Pathologist and Indian Association of Hospital Waste Management.

In the Army Medical Corps and he occupied the most prestigious post of Director General Armed Forces Medical Services of India. During his service he was awarded VSM, AVSM, PVSM for his outstanding contribution for providing excellent medical logistics during the Kargil operations, Gujarat earthquake and Tsunami respectively. On 27 Sep 05, Dr Bhardwaj was appointed as “Member” of the “National Disaster Management Authority” with the status of Minister of State, Government of India, under the Chairmanship of the Honourable Prime Minister of India.
